The Biggest Project I Will Ever Undertake

Well, maybe I have lost the plot finally. Maybe I have read one too many good books. Maybe. But I’ve decided to take on a task which will probably be the best task I have undertaken. I want to write a book, using only my summer holiday periods.

That means writing intensely in 6-8 week bursts. Like I said, possibly some synapse somewhere is blocking off my better judgment, however hear me out. Over the last few months, I’ve been contemplating the idea of putting on paper my researched thoughts on five topics (though not in this order):

  1. Evangelicalism’s View of Scripture
  2. Evangelicalism’s View of God
  3. Evangelicalism’s View of The Gospel
  4. Evangelicalism’s View of Man
  5. Evangelicalism’s View of the Church

Well, I’ve decided to do it – and in such a way as to not have it interfere with my degree. Will it be difficult? Most likely. Will be it a long process? Considering I’ll be writing this in 6-8 week bursts, once a year, this could be a while. But I’m really excited about the prospect of embarking on this task.

Well at this point, you may be asking, “Well, OK, nice idea – what can I do to help?”. Two things mostly:

PRAY – A lot of “sweat, blood, toils and tears” are ahead starting next summer, and your prayers will be much appreciated.

SUPPORT THE WISHLIST – I’m at an advantage in that I already own some 80-90% of the books I will need in my research, but there are still some gaps in that department. So I’ve set up a small Amazon wishlist with stuff which has some of the books I’ll need for my research. Any help would be much appreciated :)

Having prayed much about this in the last few weeks, I’m both nervous and excited about it and can only pray God will see fit to use this to His own glory. I’l be posting more information as I iron it out in my mind’s eye, so stay tuned :)

UPDATE: Fixed the wishlist link…
