Tribute to a Friend
Jul 17th, 2009 | By Douglas K. Adu-Boahen | Category: UncategorizedIt’s 2.09am here in London. I just heard via e-mail that my good friend and elder brother in the Saviour, Rev. R. Nathaniel Ramshire, passed away last night. To be honest, I’m a little saddened by the passing of a man who poured into my life so much just as I was starting in the Reformed faith. However I am thankful that at 93, Rev. Ramshire led a life full of joyful service to his Lord – from the formal training of ministers for Gospel ministry to teaching theology to church planters in his living room, he modeled for countless people who knew him what it means to live the unwasted life, as Piper would say, and so I pay my respects in an informal way to R. Nathaniel Ramshire.
Night, Rev, we’ll meet on the other side
Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints. (Ps 116:15)
Then I heard a voice from heaven say, “Write: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them.” (Rev 14:13)
